I ended up changing some stuff on this page very last minute so it took me a lot longer to complete than it should have (plus with my brain being mush it just took a long time in general). But! I think it’s my favorite page so far~
For the ancestors I drew (hah) heavily from the Snake Goddess figures and the Blue Ladies fresco. The two figurines looked really distinct and powerful so I based the oldest ancestor designs off those and tried to go for a more muted color palette to emphasize the fact that the great-great-grandma and great-grandma are from different generations and also aren’t around anymore (that’s also why three characters don’t have eyes). Melitta’s mom and grandma have slightly more vivid colors and start incorporating some blue but stick predominantly to the orange color palette. And Melitta…. well, we’ll find out why she’s so visually different soon ;3
